Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: Hello, I have a willy carb, no jet, so if I richen up the car with 10% I should be good to go-- What is that deal for hydrometer/ what is it for? Thanks.

Answer:
Thanks for contacting us.
If you are running methanol, we recommend that you start with a 10% nitro/90% methanol mix. You would need to increase your jet sizes by 2, i.e. 82 to 86. Once you were comfortable with your setup at this ratio, you can work your way up to a 20% nitro mix, increasing your jet size accordingly as you stepped up the %. In order to assure consistent results, we recommend the use of a hydrometer, which measures specific gravity and allows for temperature correction, as methanol and nitro expand and contract at different rates as the temperature changes. If you are running gas, nitro would not be an easy answer, as nitro and gas do not stayed mixed. We would recommend the use of our Super Blue 007 instead. It mixes 1:4 and will provide you with a 10-12% HP increase. It also requires rejetting. Please let me know what additional questions you have.
We look forward to helping you.

Question 2: Does the motor need anything special in it and do you guys ship nitro to oklahoma city? Do you know of anyone else here buying it? Thanks.

Answer:
Your motor can remain as is. We can ship to OKC via UPS if it is 5 gallons or less and via common carrier if it is a larger quantity. As a matter of policy and confidentiality, we do not disclose the locations or identities of individual customers.

You will need to complete a security form which I have attached and return that to us, with a copy of a government issued ID. You can place your order by calling or by emailing us.

Question 3: Hi I was looking at your products. I race 200 feet sand or mud drags with a 2900 lb. jeep 415 small block, I am looking for an additive to boost power in a none N.O.S. class.

I hear nitro will not mix with race fuel. I heard of nitro propane, and your products blue 007 and propylene oxide what would be the best to give me more power without N.O.S. and how should i mix it?

Answer:
Thanks for visiting our website.

What you have heard is correct, Nitromethane will not stay mixed with gasoline. Nitropropane has been used, however it is very expensive and difficult to tune to.

Super Blue 007 is mixed 1 part to 4 parts gas. You would increase your jet sizes by 2, i.e. 82 to 86 and you  would see a 10-12% increase in power.

Propylene Oxide is mixed 1 part to 12 parts gas. No changes in jetting are necessary and you would see a 7-8% increase in power.

While both products are priced the same per gallon, the Super Blue will cost more per ‘mixed gallon’ than the PO. The Super Blue is more stable – you can mix it and use it a week or two later, as long as the container has remained sealed and away from heat or light. You would only want to mix the PO in a quantity that you would use within 24 -36 hours. You would need to cap or close off any vent lines coming from the fuel cell when the engine was not running, to minimize the evaporation of the PO. The PO will alter your exhaust odor significantly and will be easily recognized by experts or experienced racers. Many of our customers will use Fuel Fragrance to mask the odor, claiming that the normal exhaust odor was giving them headaches. Super Blue will not noticeably affect the odor of your exhaust.

Question 4: Do you have any distributors in the Washington dc area?  Also do you have any recommendations on type of fuel I should be using?

16-1 compression / 8000 rpms / Small block Chevrolet / 840hp on motor
500 horsepower nos fogger
Drag racing

Need anymore details?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

Answer:
Joe,
Thanks for contacting us.

The good news is we have dealers in Manassas and Fredricksburg. The fuel we would recommend is Sunoco MaxNOS. It is designed for the compression that you are running and to be used with NOS.

Our dealers typically stock it in 5 gallon steel cans and can order larger quantities – 15, 30 and 54 gallon drums – if you would like to purchase it in that quantity.

If you will let me know which is more convenient, I’ll be happy to put you in touch with the closest dealer.

Question 5. Hi, I just received my first gallon of Super Blue and cannot wait to try it in my race car. I have a few questions. 1--handling instructions - can I leave it in the car and fuel cell? Will it affect the rubber or aluminum componets? 3-shelf life - once mixed, how long do I have to use it? If I drain it out of my fuel cell and store in an airtight fuel jug in a dark cool place will it extend the shelf life? I ask because I will not use all 5gallons as the last race of the season is next week. 4-jetting - web sez jet up 2 sizes. I'm at a 60 now, so is 62 the right increase? I run a Holley 2 barrel.

Thanks John
PS - Your shipping is the Best!!!!!! I got the Super Blue in like 2 days! Thanks jb

Answer:
John,

You should treat fuel that has Super Blue in it in the same way you would treat your fuel. If you leave it for any period of time – longer than the day you are running, you risk losing the ‘light ends’ – the most volatile part of the fuel – where the power comes from. It won’t affect rubber or aluminum components any more than your base fuel will. Once mixed, it has the same shelf life and storage recommendations as fuel – the ones you have listed are good. When tightening the jug, don’t overtighten, as that can cause the gasket in the lid to distort and lose its seal with the rim of the jug.

Two sizes to us would be  60 to 64.
